What I Learned Today
I am really not a fan of April Fools' Day, but I really like Yahoo's Ideological Search.
I've used Jumpcut for a long time to give me a clipboard buffer under OS X, but I think I've found a replacement. I finally downloaded the beta of LaunchBar 5, and the clipboard management is pretty good. If you're using LaunchBar 4 already, I recommend upgrading.
Radiant vs BrowserCMS
BrowserCMS released their code recently, and I watched their presentation at acts_as_conference and installed the CMS tonight.
They mention Radiant in their talk, and say that it lacks features often asked for by clients, such as permissions and versioning. Looking at their product, they've got those down pat. There's a lot of promise in BrowserCMS, but I'm not jumping ship yet. Their editing interface is way more complex, although it might be more intuitive if you don't know HTML. Their asset management is also kind of clunky. Their portlet system - too much to explain here, but look at the presentation, near the end - is pretty badass, though.
I'm excited to have two really good options for CMSes, based on client need.
